A high-level event convened by Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) and the AfriCaribbean Diaspora Alliance (ADA) during the United Nations General Assemblies 2024 will underscore the importance of tackling Africa's energy and climate change challenges through carbon market credit financing to pave the way for a more sustainable and resilient future for the continent.

To tackle Africa's energy challenges and climate change, it's essential to use a combination of financial solutions, technological innovations, and carbon credit markets. These challenges include energy security, environmental sustainability, and energy equity. African countries can effectively address these problems using financial tools and carbon markets. Investing in renewable energy projects and energy-efficient technologies can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy security for everyone.

Carbon markets offer a promising solution for Africa, potentially providing substantial benefits and solving energy issues. By participating in these markets, African nations can trade emissions allowances, encourage emission reductions, and use cleaner energy sources to attract investments, generate revenue, and transition to a low-carbon economy.
